Supreme Court has pronounced its decision on CBSE Board Examination Fee Waiver.
Ranchi: During the period of Kovid-19, there was a demand for waiver of fees on the basis of arguments by parents for facing economic problems. This petition was filed by an NGO. The petition was presented before Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice R. Subhash Reddy and Justice MR Shah in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, 17 November 2020.
It said that the court should direct the CBSE and Delhi Government to waive the fees. On this, the court said that 'how can the court direct the government to do so? You should send an appeal to the government on this matter. ' Saying this, the court dismissed the petition.
The NGO appealed to the Supreme Court on 28 October 2020, challenging the directive given by the Delhi High Court. The High Court had then asked the Aam Aadmi Party Government (AAP) and CBSE to take a decision on the NGO's petition as a representation. The court had asked for a decision in this regard keeping in mind the law, rules, government policies and facts of the case.
