Ranchi: This year, 150 high schools with establishment permission will not get grant this year. A letter has been issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education for submission of applications for grants. Regarding the grant for the financial year 2020-21, the letter issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education stated that only approved (permanent recognition) secondary schools can apply for the grant.
Establishment-permitted schools are not allowed to submit applications for grants, while until 2019, establishment-approved schools were also allowed to apply. There are 150 Establishment Permitted Schools in Jharkhand. 100 of these schools belong to the time of integrated Bihar and these schools got the permission from the Bihar government. About 50 schools have got establishment permission from the Government of Jharkhand before 2008.
Rules made in Jharkhand in the year 2008: After the formation of Jharkhand, rules were made in 2008 to give establishment permission and approval to high schools. Prior to 2008, schools were recognized only on the basis of Bihar rules. In the rules effective by the Government of Bihar, schools were given grants only on the basis of establishment permission.
For this reason, in Jharkhand, even before 2008, high schools used to get grants on the basis of establishment permission. In the rules made in 2008, all established permission schools were asked to take approval on the basis of the rules, but these schools have not taken the approval till date. The schools were given two years to seek approval. Later, a three-term extension of two years was also given.
