UP-800 MBBS seats increased in private medical colleges

Lucknow: 800 seats have been increased in MBBS syllabus in the state. The National Medical Commission has allowed admission of five new private medical colleges to 150-150 seats, while the admission capacity of a private minority medical college in Lucknow has been increased by 50 seats. Now there are four thousand MBBS seats in private medical colleges in the state.

There are now 29 private medical colleges in the state. The National Medical Council has approved the United Institute of Medical Sciences Prayagraj and Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences Gautam Budh Nagar for admission in the session 2020-21. Both the medical colleges will be able to get admission in 150-150 seats.

Apart from this, Varunarjun Medical College Shahjahanpur, Sri Veketeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences Amroha National Capital Region (MSY) Medical College and Hospital Meerut have also been allowed for admission in 150-150 seats. In this way, a total of 750 AMBBS seats have been increased.

 

In addition, the Integral Institute of Medical Sciences Lucknow had 100 seats so far. The National Medical Commission has increased 50 seats there. Now Integral will be able to enter 150 seats. In this way, 800 seats of MBBS will increase in total private medical colleges. In the last session, there were 3300 seats of private medical colleges in the state.

There are about 3000 MBBS seats in government medical colleges in the state. In the first phase, 2928 seats have been included in counseling. In this way, admission process is to be done on 7100 MBBS seats in the state. According to the Directorate General of Medical Education, 15941 candidates have registered for first counseling till the evening of 08 November.
