NCTE’s big decision :Now the certificate of CTET will be valid for lifetime

Delhi: The central government has given huge relief to the youth aspiring to become teachers. They will no longer need to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) every seven years. Rather once passed TET will be valid for lifetime. This system will be applicable throughout the country. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) chairman Vineet Joshi said the TET has now been validated for a lifetime. Till now it was valid for only seven years. This decision was taken at a recent council meeting.

This system will be applicable throughout the country. The new arrangement will be applicable for TET examinations to be held further. In the case of students who have already passed TET, NCTE said that it will take the decision after taking legal advice.

Exam is held twice a year in July and December.

CBSE conducts CTET examination twice every year. The first examination is held in the month of July and the second of December. Successful candidates appearing in CTET Paper-1 are considered eligible for teacher recruitment for classes 1 to 5. Whereas successful candidates appearing in Paper-2 are considered eligible for teacher recruitment for classes 6th to 8th.

According to the earlier rules of CTET (CTET), the validity of the seat certificate was 7 years (from the result date). But now it will be valid for lifetime.
