Union Budget 2021: Major announcements in education

New Delhi,Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the General Budget on Monday (Budget 2021-22). It has made big announcements in the education sector. Since the corona epidemic has damaged the education sector to a great extent and schools have faced many difficulties in maintaining their existence.

In view of this, there was an urgent need for reforms in the education sector. Know what major announcements the Finance Minister has made in the field of education.

Reform in more than 15 thousand schools

The Finance Minister said that more than 15 thousand schools will be improved in terms of quality so that all the components of the new National Education Policy can be followed in these campuses. Finance Minister said that other schools will also be given financial assistance So that the ideals and goals of the new National Education Policy can be achieved. The Finance Minister said that the new National Education Policy has been accepted wholeheartedly. In view of this, 100 new Sainik Schools will be set up in partnership with NGOs and States. For this, the help of private sector will be taken.

Commission will be constituted in higher education

The Union Finance Minister informed that a new commission will be set up to strengthen higher education. He said that the budget 2019-20

I had mentioned the formation of the Higher Education Commission. The bill will be introduced this year to implement it. It will be a body in which different bodies work under one roof.

A Central University in Leh

The Finance Minister said that there will be setting up of beehive structures in nine cities of the country. Their work will be in coordination with the institutions. A Central University will be established in Leh for higher education in Ladakh.

3700 crores for Digital India

The Finance Minister said that a provision of Rs 3700 crore has been made for Digital India. Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Driven MCA 21 version 3.0 will be launched during the year 2021-22

750 Eklavya model residential schools to increase cost

The Finance Minister said that provision has been made to increase the cost of 750 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the budget. It is proposed in the budget to increase it from 20 crores to 38 crores rupees. A provision has been made to increase it to Rs 48 crore for hilly and inaccessible areas.
